MLK, day. RANDOM THOUGHTS: So today is Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday and on every social network platform there are tons of people giving thanks to MLK for all he has done, and I’m disgusted. Not because people are giving thanks to this man, who truly deserves that and beyond, but because we as a nation (myself included) wait an entire year to give recognition to a true pioneer of today’s intergraded society. Why does it take 364 days for realization on how much this man has given us, why does it take 364 days to acknowledge a man who has changed life in the United States of America as we know it? This man literally gave his life so that people of all colors and nationalities could be judged by the content of their character, not by the color of their skin, and all we can do is give him a day? I just don’t get it, how ignorant are we as a generation of beings to forget what matters the most.

calling this man a fashion genius is a complete understatement, long live McQueen.
the presidential state from my perspective. Have you ever sat down and discussed a topic(s) that you were passionate about with an individual who is absolutely oblivious to what is really happening around them? I most certainly have, and I seem to run into that problem a lot when speaking politics with people my own age. I am a 22 year old black female from Delaware, and let’s just be honest a large percentage of young “urban” America is unaware of what is happening in the world around them. One topic in particular that is near and dear to my heart would be President Barack Obama. Thinking back in 2008, everyone was so “Team Obama”, looking for change and how Obama would be the person to make that happen, but no one ever really thought about the process it would take to actually make things happen. The world was not created overnight, and that’s what most people expected to happen once Obama got in office. Now that it is 2012 and because things haven’t changed drastically, people have lost hope in the fact that change could come from this individual. But, when you really sit down and look at the facts, change has come and will continue to come if this president is re-elected. Now I am not here to change anyone’s opinions I am just stating the facts. During the term of President Barack Obama monumental moments in this nations history has occurred: Osama Bin Laden was captured and killed, he toppled Gaddafi, we have helped other countries tremendously during historically noted natural disasters, and most of all he prevented the second great depression, amongst a laundry list of other things that not only this country but the world as a whole has benefited from. Society is blind to the fact that just because the president is proclaimed to be the most powerful person in the world, they just can not make decisions which could or could not be what the country needs; there is still an entire list of people that have to agree with those decisions. Things have not exactly gone in favor of Barack Obama for the fact that there is a larger percentage of Republican House members who often vote against what he proposes. A simple math formula of the on going situation at capital hill faces would be 1 – 1 = 0, and nothing can get done. The issue that this country faces is that everything is too black and white, meaning that it’s either Republican or Democrat, there is no consensus about what is and what’s not good for the people. For example past presidents and house members have proposed things that President Obama has proposed during his term, and everyone was all for it, but for some odd reason things just aren’t happening as smoothly during this presidential term. In the past few months we have seen the buffoonery of different candidates like Herman Cain or the negativity about the current president from Mitt Romney, which should derive people from voting for these public figures. Why would people want an individual whose presidential tactics are to slander their opponent instead of focusing on the target objective which is how they plan to benefit citizens? Why would people want a leader who represents the economically stable portion of the nation, when the larger portions of Americans are financially unstable? The average person does not think these things through and that’s what’s scary. I would love for President Barack Obama to be re-elected in November, but honestly I do not know if that will happen. The changes he is attempting will affect the majority of American citizens, opposed to a small portion of American citizens.

Finding My Own Way. Originally I started this blog to impress a woman/family friend I worked for, writing articles, posting videos, audio clips, and etc. about topics that she wanted me to, opposed to what I truly wanted. Over the last few months I have grown as a professional and a individual tremendously. I can’t be anyone other than myself, I am a 22 year old black girl from Delaware that loves family, fashion, making money, and just living life. From here on out, I will blog about what I want and cover events that I want to cover. So to the people that visit me on Tumblr, THANK YOU & get ready to know the real me.
